We designed and tested the brace to stabilize the gusset plate, instead of the other way around. Then, we rejected those “typical details” from the past and implemented methods to eliminate all connection costs possible. This means significant savings on gusset plates, stiffeners, doubler plates, and all the parts of the connection add cost to the project. There is a robotic-level precision in the construction of the EVER Brace that is not present in today’s concrete-filled industry standard. That’s because the EVER Brace is not filled with concrete. The classic practice of concrete-filling creates brace-to-brace variables that cannot be identified or uniformly mitigated.
Because it has no concrete fill, the EVER Brace has superior manufacturing repeatability. And to ensure consistent performance, our testing was performed on braces manufactured with an intentionally lower quality standard. All this means more precision and more confidence in the final brace.
